“Don’t like the day the course is played…. post it on the Velvet Vent page. Upset that the day of the outing has been changed because of temp, rain, course length… make a post. Heck, Velvet Hammer is from Ohio… They will play in the SNOW!!!! Upset that the course doesn’t sell plaid colored golf balls, nail shaped tees, allows University of Michigan golf bags, doesn’t allow you to carry a chain saw …… make a post. Upset that course selected doesn’t give a discount to fans of THE OHIO STATE UNIVERISTY, has narrow fairways…. make a post. Page will be sponsored by Doug “The golfer formerly known as the Rubber Mallet” and Coors Light!!!!!!!!”

    Rudy,

Suggestion. Can you reverse the sort order of the comments so that the latest is posted at the top?

You can’t. That’s the way comments work. It’s supposed to be like a conversation, from top to bottom

Figure this is as good as place as any to advertise that I am looking for two (2) golfers to join me in the ATG Norfolk CPO Scholarship Golf Tournament May 1st. It is being held at Oceana @0800, and the entry fee is $70 if paid by 17 April. If anyone is interested please let me know ASAP as my other partner Don Perkins needs to know if we are going to have a team real soon!

It may have been a very smart decision for you to stay home yesterday. I bet Ron would have prefered that you had come so he might have gotten more than a single point!

I would have hated to shown up yesterday Doug, you would have lost to not only Ron, Kevin, but also myself…… Don Perkins

  • By Doug, April 10, 2009 @ 3:59 pm

Don, do you even remember what a golf club looks like?

  • By Kevin Abraham, April 13, 2009 @ 9:18 am

Looks like rain Wednesday. However, do not change the day!!!!

  • By Doug, April 13, 2009 @ 11:57 am

I always thought rain was considered “inclement”?

    Derek,

I wish you were going to be here this year also, I need the competition! And I love to see Rudy nervous because his has to room with someone who talks about ass so much!!

Ron, I’d like to suggest an addition to the handicap page to include the net score for a given round. Everything is there except you don’t know what handicap the player was playing at on that day. Don’t know how much trouble that would be, just a little more info.

I’ve proposed the following to the “Committee”. Membership, let’s hear it from you.

I propose the league refrain from having a league round at a course where even 1 member does not have ready access.
Some of us no longer have base access, so the league should refrain from sponsoring events at those sites. It’s unfair to those of
us that do not have base access. Now, you say, just catch a ride with someone who has access. That works only when they don’t
ID check all the people in the car. I’ve been to bases were they have 100% ID compliance, and it could happen at any base at any time.
Also, once you’ve hitched a ride with someone else, you’re at their convenience, not yours. I prefer to have my own vehicle to get me
where I need to be, not rely on someone else. And I don’t like the idea of leaving my vehicle parked off base somewhere. I intend to
acquire a retired CAC, but until all of our members do so, the league should fairly NOT schedule events at military bases.
